Before the bogus tears have even evaporated from the minds of Americans, Obama’s officials are on a pre-townhall tour to cities recently victimized by gun violence in order to garner support for Obama’s latest executive actions, according to The Associated Press.
Vice President Joe Biden has stopped in cities like Hartford, Connecticut and Roanoke, Virginia which is near Virginia Tech, the site of the 2007 shooting, giving interviews to local stations. “After giving them every chance to do something, the president decided we can’t wait any longer for these initiatives,” said Biden.
Instead of citing the irresponsible actions of the shooter’s mother, as well as the lawlessness of the shooter himself, Biden points the finger at Connecticut lawmakers as a means to justify Obama’s tyrannical executive actions. Rather than hold an individual accountable for his actions, we are told to comply with unrealistic laws imposed on the collective.
“Imagine what would have happened had Virginia reported the mental state of the shooter in Blacksburg down at Virginia Tech,” posits Biden. Again, Biden blames lawmakers for the shooting by not reporting mentally ill individuals. This of course is in reference to and in support of Obama’s new rule allowing doctors to report patients to the National Instant Criminal Background Check System (NICS) which also bans them from purchasing firearms.
The problem is, even those struggling with mental illness and violent proclivities have ways of getting a hold of guns. As a recent report by Michael Sisak of AP has shown, even Obama’s latest and greatest measures wouldn’t have stopped the recent mass shootings. We’ll never hear these facts come from the mouths of the Obama administration, though, because it doesn’t add to the narrative they’re trying, and failing to sell us. Obama would rather confiscate weapons on a mass scale than target the individuals actually responsible.
In Newtown, Biden and his band of policy pushers reached the height of repugnance when they visited the parents of victims of Sandy Hook Elementary School. “It’s something that haunts you. It’s the idea of those beautiful little babies in those classrooms like dolls discarded,” Biden said.
I think we can all agree that the event at Sandy Hook was incredibly tragic. Last time I checked, no one thought Adam Lanza was a saint. It’s a gross and nasty thing, however, to exploit the victims of a tragedy to push your agenda. Instead of using facts, Biden uses the dead children to shame those who stand by their second amendment right. Instead of reasonable, law-abiding citizens, those who oppose Obama’s new measures are now considered heartless, because if you cared about children’s lives, you’d back Obama’s plan, too. This isn’t logic folks, this is emotional appeal.
But these are classic leftist tactics. It’s not about the lawbreakers themselves- it’s the rest of us who are expected to be a part of Obama’s plans in regard to mass confiscation as shown here:
“Couple of decades ago, Australia had a mass shooting, similar to Columbine or Newtown. And Australia just said, well, that’s it, we’re not doing, we’re not seeing that again, and basically imposed very severe, tough gun laws, and they haven’t had a mass shooting since. Our levels of gun violence are off the charts. There’s no advanced, developed country that would put up with this.”
“When Australia had a mass killing – I think it was in Tasmania – about 25 years ago, it was just so shocking the entire country said ‘well we’re going to completely change our gun laws’, and they did. And it hasn’t happened since.” …
“I don’t foresee any legislative action being taken in this Congress,” he said. “And I don’t foresee any real action until the American public feels a sufficient sense of urgency and they say to themselves, ‘This is not normal, this is something that we can change and we’re going to change it’.”
For now I’ll spare you the statistics of countries who’ve banned guns (which aren’t good) and end with the wise words of a Founding Father-
“I prefer dangerous freedom to peaceful slavery”
